The Bulgarian Black Sea coast is extremely beautiful. It is varied and possesses everything necessary to provide even the most challenging visitor with a pleasant, healthy and unique rest in the spring, summer and autumn – mild climate, caressing warm sea, wide sandy beaches, exuberant sun, light sea breeze. Also, it has cool green parks, forests and gardens, healthy mineral spas, picturesque rock hills and romantic coves, firths and lagoons.
The history of our lands along the seashores is rich and goes back to ancient times. Different peoples have been living in these parts. Traces of the Thracians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, and Turks can be found – ruins of ancient settlements, shrines, fortresses, churches and monasteries unique finds from various epochs have been discovered in these lands. The Bulgarians have lived here since the foundation of the Bulgarian State on the Danube in 681. There are many exciting legends related to the sea, the settlements and the people.
As the centuries and millenniums passed, peoples` life changed and the Pontos Akseinos (unwelcoming sea) turned into Pontos Evksinos (welcoming sea).
Today, the seaside resorts take up about 25 percent of our Black Sea coast. Many of them have been awarded the prestigious international honour – Blue Flag – sighs of ecologically clean territories.
Along the 378-kilometre-long coast of Bulgaria, everyone can find a spot for oneself. It might be a luxurious hotel, vacation village, elegant private hotel, hospitable house, camping tent or caravan by the sea. Everyone is welcome.
The pleasure of the rendezvous with the sea and the beautiful nature is combined with the quality services and facilities. Various opportunities for visitors to practice water sports are offered. Summer recreation can be combined with balneotherapy and mud baths. Or else, one can just take a walk along the shore or a romantic cruise by sea. It is nice to sit down and chat with the locals – the Bulgarians living on the coast.
